Linking your Instagram to a Facebook page

The step that trips up most members. Here's the simplest path and what to do if you don't have a Facebook page yet.

§IV · Connecting Instagram

Meta's Graph API requires that your Business or Creator Instagram account be linked to a Facebook page. This is the step most members get stuck on. It's painless once you know where to click.

If you already have a Facebook page

  1. 01Open Instagram → your profile → Edit profile
  2. 02Scroll to "Page" → tap it
  3. 03Choose your existing Facebook page from the list, or create a new one
  4. 04Confirm — done

If you don't have a Facebook page

Create a placeholder page during the link step. It does not need to be active or have followers. You will not need to post on it. Its only job is to satisfy the Graph API requirement.

  1. 01In the same "Page" step above, tap "Create new page"
  2. 02Name it the same as your Instagram (or your professional name)
  3. 03Pick any reasonable category ("Personal blog" works)
  4. 04Skip every optional field — submit
